Laker Families – Free Meals for All Students AGAIN This Year!
EVERY student in our district will enjoy:
  • 1 FREE breakfast each school day
  • 1 FREE lunch each school day
  • No fees. No qualifications. Just healthy meals for every child!
  • This amazing benefit is made possible through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)—and it’s approved one year at a time. That means we must re-qualify every single year to keep it going.
  • Please note: There will be no charging on accounts again this year for any extra meals or snacks. Students must have money on their account or pay cash at the time of purchase. Any student that has a negative balance will not be able to purchase any extras until the negative balance is paid (check out PaySchools for online payment or pay cash or check to your building secretary.)
How can you help us keep this benefit for our kids?
  • ALL families are asked to fill out the Income Verification Form and provided to Dawn Hansen, Food Services Director, even though meals are free this year. The form can also be found in FinalForms, linked on our webpage (https://www.danburyschools.org/frmeals look for the “Download/Print a Household Information Survey” link).
  • Information provided on the form will remain confidential.
Take a few minutes to complete the form—your small action has a BIG impact!

Laker Health & Wellness

From Nurse Allison for the 2026–27 School Year

  • Per school policy, all medications must be in their original container and accompanied by a signed guardian form. Prescription medications also require a physician’s signature. Forms are available on the school website (RX and OTC)

  • Kindergarten parents, please make sure your student has received their required kindergarten booster vaccinations and provide an updated immunization record to our school nurse, Allison Holzaepfel. We are required to report our immunization compliance to the Ohio Department of Health by October 15, so please submit records as soon as possible. Thank you for your help in keeping our student records up to date!

NEW INFO - Vision & Hearing Screening
Ohio public schools provide vision and hearing screenings to help identify potential barriers to learning.
Danbury’s state-required screenings will begin September 21 and continue until completed for students in the following grades:
Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th & 11th grades
Parents/guardians who DO NOT want their child to participate in the state-required vision and hearing screening should contact Mrs. Holzaepfel at holzaepfela@danburyschools.org.
Please note: This screening is separate from the voluntary vision screening provided by our local Lions Club. The Lions Club visits once a year with an autorefractor to screen for potential vision concerns. This service is typically offered to preschool and, occasionally, kindergarten students and requires a signed permission form from a parent/guardian.

Please contact Mrs. Allison Holzaepfel MSN, RN with any questions!  holzaepfela@danburyschools.org
